Time Builds Value

Post Performance Photography

For more than a decade, I have photographed dancers' feet immediately after they leave the stage.

These images are made while the performance is still present on the body, before the sweat dries, before the tape comes off, before the marks begin to disappear.

They are portraits of time.

Every bruise, callus, wrinkle, blister, and trace of rosin holds the memory of years spent practicing a craft that asks the body for everything.

The audience sees movement.

These photographs show what movement leaves behind.
